The ‘It’s a Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon’ is an annual fundraising event benefiting various men’s health and research programs.
It’s A Bloke Thing is a not-for-profit (NFP) foundation that hosts annual fundraising and awareness-raising events for Prostate Cancer Research. The events include the highly anticipated, annual Wagners It’s A Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon – now the largest day-time fundraising event in Queensland.
The inaugural It’s A Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon was held in Toowoomba in 2011, and has since become a significant fundraising event, benefiting various men’s health and research programs, including the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Toowoomba Base Hospital Foundation.
An education program has been funded to continue its important work of delivering practical, life-saving health education across Queensland as part of our It’s A Bloke Thing roadshow.
In addition, the funds raised from the event also enable a prostate cancer nurse to be employed full-time in South West Queensland (based in Toowoomba). This means that patients from this region no longer need to travel to Brisbane for specialist care and treatment.
Excitingly, the It’s A Bloke Thing Luncheon has now also expanded to Darwin, with the inaugural Darwin It’s A Bloke Thing Prostate Cancer Luncheon to take place in February 2018.
